Beth Allen-Motzel is a gifted and versatile dancer, choreographer and teacher who is inspired by all genres of dance.
She began her dance training at the age of three in local dance studios until she was accepted to study at the School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, where she remained until she was 14. She continued her ballet training with Lorraine McAdams and joined the Mt. Laurel Regional Ballet Co. where she performed throughout the Delaware Valley. She also studied with Barbara Sandonato, Alexei Yudenich, David Howard, Cherie Noble, Marion Tonner and many more Internationally acclaimed artists.
During this time, she divided her dance training with her study of jazz, tap and modern. She joined Jazz Unlimited to further her training where she began teaching. She soon realized that this was her calling.
Beth was awarded a scholarship with Jo-Jo Smith in New York City and was asked to join the faculty at age 17. Her dance instructors included Ronn Forella, Luigi, Gus Giordano, Frank Hatchett, Jo-Jo Smith and Sue Samuels.
She taught for the New York State Summer School for the Arts in Saratoga Springs and has consulted for the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University.
Also an award-winning theater choreographer for local dance and high schools, Beth is one of the most sought after dance instructors, having taught continuously for the past 43 years. She opened and ran the Sandonato School of Ballet in Medford Lakes for five years and has also worked intensively coaching students privately since she began her teaching career. Many of her students have gone on to work as professional dancers and teachers. They continue to call on her wisdom to guide them through their dance careers.
